Overview

Trainings are one of the requirements to get to a higher rank in SCR.

Trainings are built of 3 stages, which can be seen below:

  • Stage 1: Joining the group/meeting training requirements
  • Stage 2: N/A, currently once players passed Stage 1 they will go to Stage 3 directly
  • Stage 3: Booking a training session and/or attending a practical training

Qualified Driver training

Once you have joined the group and have reached 60 Experience, you are eligible for booking and/or attending a Qualified Driver training. To attend these, join when the training starts. (10 minutes before if you have a booking). To join, enter the main game. Instead of clicking "Play", click "Training". If you are on time, it should say "You can join now". Then, click "Join session". Spawn as a passenger at Stepford Central (Central Mall). Then line up on the grass.

Dispatcher training

Once you passed your Qualified Driver training and you have played SCR enough to get 360 Experience, you are eligible to book and/or attending a Dispatcher training. These trainings are held at Faymere. Line up there after joining.

Guard training

If you are a Dispatcher with 540 Experience, then you can now book and/or attend a Guard training. This is the last role that you can get without an application form as of V1.6.5. These trainings are held at Stepford United Football Club so you should line up there after joining.

Signaller training

If you passed the application for Signaller, you now take part in the Trainee Signaller program, in which you will have 3 sections to pass.

  • Section 1: Theory test, including reading the SG Booklet and complete a quiz afterwards.
  • Section 2: Practical training, you will practice how to control trains and signals at different types of signalling desk in a VIP server.
  • Section 3: Assessment, you will be controlling the signal and trains at a signalling desk in a live server.

Training System 2.0

Training2 0 public

A overview of the new training system (training 2.0)

On May 15, 2020, BanTech revealed the training system 2.0 proposal to players in the SCR Discord as follows.

Note: This is only a basic concept of the new training system and the exact details are yet to be confirmed, so the following may not exactly be the same as what comes out eventually.

For Qualified Drivers/Dispatchers/Guards

  • Stage 1: Joining the group/meeting training requirements/waiting for training blacklists to expire (if any)
  • Stage 2: Reading the training guide given, followed by a theory quiz.
  • Stage 3: Booking a training session and/or attending a practical training, in which all trainings will now consist of fully practical assessments only, without any briefing, demonstration, theory questions or Q&As as the new Stage 2 will replace all these other elements.

For Signallers

The purpose of the change to Signallers is made so that having a Discord account is no longer a requirement for Signallers, hence the Signaller rank will then be allowed for players <13 as Discord does not allow persons who are <13 to open an account.

  • Stage 1: Joining the group/meeting training requirements/waiting for training blacklists to expire (if any)
  • Stage 2: An in-game application form, replacing the current Google Forms one, and waiting for application readers to review your app. Applications will open all year round at that time instead of only a few times a year currently. However, to avoid receiving a mass amount of applications, There will a long cooldown period, presumably like 1-2 months to give others a chance.
  • Stage 3: Practical training, same as the Section 2 of the current system. Simulated traffic will be used instead of real traffic of trains driven by training assistants, in order to ensure the difficulty level is the same for all trainees.
  • Stage 4: Assessment, same as the Section 3 of the current system, developers are currently still developing the exact assessment mode and no drafts are made yet
(Depending on how it is developed, Stage 3 and 4 mentioned here may be merged or not)
    • However, the practical training and assessments will now be held in a training server to eliminate the need of VIP servers for practical sessions, and the disruption caused by holding assessments in a public server.
    • Also, to avoid admin abuse as the Signaller role may become less difficult to obtain, the Signallers will no longer be able to access the mute/kick command, replaced by a remote system for Supervisors or above can execute commands without being in a server, and an in-game auto chat filter and mute.

However, the Training 2.0 has no change to the requirement of being able to chat in-game to do the trainings. Therefore, after the update, the Training tab will be hidden from anyone who has disabled chat to avoid wasting reservation spaces and to avoid them communicating via the application, as that would essentially be violating their privacy settings.

Training guide

Training guides of the above ranks will be available for all players to read in-game at any time, in order help players if they forgot the exact rules and procedures of different ranks, and also to let players prepare for the training of their next rank.
