Overview

Here are some major events to have happened in the history of the Stepford County Railway, such as the Big Update, One Million Update, addition of the Interior Trains such as Class 508 to the WaterLine and Class 158 to the Stepford Connect fleet, and the introduction of Express.

2018

  • January (date unknown): Class 720 was added.
  • January 1: Class 170 was added.
  • January 5: Run button was added.
  • January 9: Benton was remodeled to what it is today.
  • March 20:The New Operational Standards Manager, cg7033, was announced
  • April 8: The New Dispatch Controller, choclatesalty123, was announced
  • April 9: The 2 New Control Centre Manager, billythepet & AMAviation, were announced
  • April 21: The Big Update (SCR Version 1.0) is released. New features include the new driver GUI and new stations, as well as smarter signal systems and some changes to stations/tracks. Six stations were added.
  • May 27: AMAviation resigned, leaving billythepet to be the only Head of Network Signalling
  • June 12: 1.1 was first announced to the public in the form of the Signaller's blue dot and the speed limits.
  • July 4: The temporary Head Driver, JiveOff, was announced.
  • July 25: JiveOff was transferred to Dispatch Controller, and Mattyx2013 took his place as Head Driver.
  • August 4: Class 365 and Class 323 were announced, but never released.
  • August 18: The day we all waited for. SCR reaches 1 million visits! As a thank you from Charlie, he released the surprise One Million Update.
  • September 22: The new Stepford Central control board was announced
  • November 1: A new official way of roleplaying in Stepford County Railway, In-Game-Shift held its grand opening. This was innovated by then [SG] Quality_Content1 and is run by him and [HNS] Billythepet.
  • November 4: Many of the High Ranks roles were renamed. For example, the rank [PS] Platform Supervisor was renamed to [SDS] Senior Dispatcher.
  • December 1: The Sneak Peek Advent Calendar for the upcoming SCR Version 1.1 began. The #sneak-peeks channel in the Discord was renamed to #advent-calendar for this occasion. There were 24 sneak peeks shown, with one being posted daily.
  • December 24: #advent-calendar was renamed back to #sneak-peeks. 1.1 got an official release date at the same time, slated for December 31.
  • December 31: At 12:00 UTC, SCR Version 1.1 was released. Many features like AirLink, lots of new infrastructure and rolling stock, and many other changes were added, and a new High Rank Department called "Workforce Development" was created with JiveOff being Head of Workforce Development and Thewelsh1 being a Workforce Data Analyst.


2019

  • June 14: A new Management Department called "Product Development" was created with yrrebRBLX being Head of Product Development.
  • June 14: Charlie was assassinated at West Benton.
  • June 24: The new scenery between Stepford Central and Stepford East, created by yrreb, is released to the public.
  • June 26: Operations Director (Mattyx2013) announces the upgrade of Class 350, Class 357 and Class 360 to Next-Gen.
  • July 2: BanTech announces the release of the concourse information boards, as well as additional station announcements.
  • July 5: The NG Class 357 and Class 350 replaces the paper version of the aforementioned trains, Concourse Information Boards are added, and all servers are given a 45 player limit during the weekend.
  • July 7: Class 458 revealed on Discord and Charlie announces an upgrade of SHB platforms 4-7.
  • July 14: Class 707 Next Generation revealed on Discord (Guessing game).
  • July 21: Class 707 and Class 360 are upgraded to Next Generation, St Helens Bridge upgraded and given detailed Scenery. New AirLink logo displayed.
  • July 22: All servers are given a 20 player limit due to severe lag.
  • July 24: New Logo, New Uniforms, and Dummy Driver added.
  • July 26: Operations Director (Mattyx2013) announces the upgrade of Class 68 to Next-Gen.
  • July 26: The role Head of Workforce Development was renamed to Head of People Engagement and the "Workforce Department" was renamed to "People Engagement".
  • July 29: Elsemere Pond was destroyed in a tornado
  • September 16: Five Million Update: Class 755 added, 2 new routes for AirLink; Stepford Airport Central <> Leighton Stepford Road and Airport Terminal 3 <> Leighton Stepford Road and Real-Life Merchandise was added via Teespring
  • September 23: A new sneak peek on Discord revealed Westercoast and has previewed the Llyn-by-the-Sea line.
  • September 25: Language translation (French, Spanish, Polish, German, and Dutch), Xbox and gamepad compatibility update, updated train movement, and updated sensor detection system.
  • September 28: Next Generation Class 802 revealed on Discord and Twitter.
  • September 29: A second station, Faymere is revealed for the upcoming Llyn-by-the-Sea line.
  • October 4: Next Generation of Class 321 and Class 319 in Sneek peek
  • October 5: A third station, Northshore is revealed for the upcoming Llyn-by-the-Sea line.
  • October 8: A modern upgrade for Leighton City was announced as part of the update that adds the Llyn-by-the-Sea line.
  • October 15: A new entrance for Leighton City was revealed after the original one launched into the sky.
  • October 16: A fourth station, Starryloch is revealed for the upcoming Llyn-by-the-Sea line.
  • October 18: Class 43 was previewed on the SCR official Discord and Twitter, also revealing the terminus and the fifth sneak peek of the upcoming extension, Llyn-by-the-Sea.
  • October 20: A new entrance for Llyn-by-the-Sea was revealed.
  • October 25: A photo with a sign saying"LINE B" and a speed 30 limit was revealed on both the discord and twitter but the post on twitter said "Line A or Line B" so we can know the other sign have Line A written on it.
  • October 26: Thehazad9 resigned, and cg7033 took his place as People Director.
  • October 28: An unknown route that says "20 stops" revealed on Discord.
  • October 28: Stece_Sama was promoted to Head of Driver Operations alongside Tr_ain.
  • October 29: OverheadWires resigned from Product Developer, and Mattyx2013 resigned as Operations Director.
  • November 13: The New Operations Director, ATEKGaming, was announced.
  • November 19: MortyOfficial was promoted to Head of Platform Operations alongside Al_Vids and TransportForWales was promoted to Head of Network Signalling alongside billythepet.
  • November 25: SCR reaches 6 million visits on its second anniversary, alongside a V1.4 status update.
  • November 29: Tr_ain resigns from Head of Driver Operations.
  • December 1: December 2019 advent calendar is launched. However, it isn’t update-related, causing some users to get angry.
SCR on featured

SCR on featured (15/12/2019)

  • December 9: Following an announcement regarding the release of "an update" (possibly 1.4) this week which aroused wild rumors, SCR is placed as a featured ROBLOX game for a week, increasing the player traffic on SCR.
  • December 11: The Stepford Express line map header was revealed, confirming that the main colour of the line is going to be purple, however the line colour was known by the public previously as the Class 43 is coloured purple as well.
  • December 12: SCR becomes plagued by a rash of game crashes.
  • December 13: BanTech announces on Discord that 1.4 is ready for release, barring tweaks to route timings and finding the source of the crashes with the help of Roblox engineers.
  • December 14: V1.4 release date revealed for 16/12/19. BanTech announces on Discord that the issue has been found, and a temporary fix to prolong the amount of time before a crash is implemented. The cause is described as "a strange case of the server collisions memory increasing and never coming back down - it just rises forever. Essentially, the server runs out of memory."
  • December 16: SCR has reached 7 million visits. cg7033 announces that 1.4 has been delayed once again while Roblox engineers fix the memory leak issue. Later that day, BanTech announces that Roblox has the fix, and also admits to the existence of a Class 801.

    After months of waiting, robloxians finally got to drive and ride Stepford Express.

  • December 17: SCR Version 1.4 released; Express added, Llyn-by-the-Sea line added, new routes. Doodgewoonbas was promoted to Head of People Engagement alongside SCR_AutoRank and JiveOff.


2020

  • January 2: Mattyx2013 returns to the SCR development team as a Product Developer, alongside yrrebRBLX and thehazad9.
  • January 3: Class 331 and Class 465 confirmed for Next Generation upgrades, along with a much-awaited renovation to Whitefield station, all sneak peeked in one photo posted by Mattyx2013.
  • January 4: SCR reaches 8 million visits.
  • January 27: Class 720 confirmed for a Next Generation upgrade, as well as a new depot: Faymere Green TMD. The sneak peek also included a shunting Class 08, which would only be used for scenery.

  • January 30: New benches, lamp posts, and other props were revealed by Mattyx2013.
  • February 1: The updated SCR Roadmap was revealed, featuring a new priority system. A '???' feature was introduced.
SCR Covid-19 message

25% Discount Message

  • March 18: 2nd upgrade of Stepford Central revealed and soon released by PDV, yrrebRBLX. This also includes the relocation of the former ROC to the newly updated Stepford Central, along with a 25% discount on trains and routes due to the COVID-19. Meanwhile, the '???' feature was accidentally removed from the roadmap, which was re-added later.
  • March 20: ATEKGaming resigned from Operations Director and IslandLine took his place. ATEKGaming took IslandLine's place as Head of Operational Standards. ATEKGaming died from depression a couple seconds later.

A mysterious train was sneaked peeked on March 26.

  • March 26: An unknown special train (one of Bombadier Voyager family) was revealed. Given due to the purple color scheme, this could be a new Express train. The mystery train crashed a couple minutes later.

Class 221 and Class 220 sneak peeked at Stepford Central.

  • March 28: Another sneak peek was released, showing two Express trains Class 221s and a Class 220 at Stepford Central
  • April 1: April Fools Day event happened on the wiki where users edited and created new pages for a joke.
