Trivia[]

  • This train was introduced as a substitute for the Class 387, which was transferred to AirLink.
  • In the purchase logs, this train is shown as SW387 instead of SW379, likely because it was meant to be a direct replacement for the Class 387, so anyone who owned said train prior to its transfer to AirLink would keep their purchase.
    • This is also the latest train in the game to be out of service in reality, being returned to their leasing company due to high lease costs.
  • Strangely, this train received another remodel in V1.9.2 despite already being meshed in V1.7, alongside its sister trains, the Class 377 and Class 387.
    • The remodel, however, drastically improved the visual quality of these trains, leading many players to believe that these three trains now have the most detailed cab in-game.
  • The Class 379 and the Class 730/0 are the only trains on Waterline to have cab-end gangways.
  • Similarly to the other 4 car trains (except the double Class 143), the Class 379 is too long to fit on the platforms at Whitney Green and Morganstown Docks.
  • This is the only train on Waterline to not have any sound while idling.
  • This was one of five trains in the game that are defunct in real life, with the others being the Class 458/0, Class 143, Class 365 and Class 508.
    • It was also one of two trains that became defunct after they were added, with the second being the Class 508.
    • On 12th March 2024, Govia Thameslink Railway announced that it would be leasing all 30 of the 379s, for use on Great Northern services, this means that the 379 is no longer defunct in real life.
