The Class 08 is a diesel-electric shunter unit manufactured by British Rail, stored at Faymere Green TMD. It is one of the two trains in the game, alongside the Class 66, that are not in active use and cannot be driven by players.

Trivia[]

  • According to Mattyx2013, this train is used for scenery in depots only. Currently this train is only found in Faymere Green TMD.
  • When the Class 08 was revealed, some players wondered if they would be able to drive this train, while some players also thought that this train's introduction might imply a possibility of having freight train service in SCR in the future, despite that the Class 08 is only used for shunting stock in real life, not freight services. Ultimately these ideas were turned down by SCR themselves.
  • The locomotive was not explicitly revealed to be a Class 08, but the community quickly identified it.
  • This is the lowest class number in the game. The TOPS system always has at least 2 digits in the class number, so instead of Class 8 it is Class 08.
    • However, the TOPS of it cannot be seen. This is the only train that has a TOPS which cannot be seen.
  • The train's cab is not detailed and is covered by the black windows, but it is not considered as a Previous Generation as the train itself is solid and not a hollow train with a "paper" exterior.
  • This train, if could be driven, would be the slowest train in Stepford County Railway at a maximum speed of either 15 or 20 mph, and also the oldest functional rolling stock in SCR (entering service in 1953), surpassing the Class 43.
  • This train is the only train remaining with the generic SCR livery. The Class 68 livery was re-made into the standard Stepford Connect livery in V1.7.1.
    • It is also the only train remaining with the former SCR logo, with other trains such as the Class 331 having it removed with their mesh upgrades.
