Stepford Connect Headquarters is situated between Stepford East and Stepford Central.
WaterLine is a subsidiary of Stepford Connect, and as such you can find Connect signage and branding used on trains and at stations operated by WaterLine.
History of Stepford Connect
2017
Stepford Connect was the first operator that opened for Stepford County Railway entering service on November 25th of 2017, and was the regional rail operator for Stepford County as well. The first train to operate on the line was the Class 700. The first phase of the line opened with its termini at Stepford Town (later renamed Stepford Central) and Benton, then was later extended to Stepford Airport Central, forming an airport rail link between the city and the airport. Around the same time, a new station was opened: Port Benton, which was the first non-mainline station on the network. The station was also the first to feature a terminus loop, in this case, it went back to Benton. Later, the new Coxly Depot was opened to alleviate traffic from the overcrowded Benton Depot, along with the addition of the Class 333 units to further improve the frequency of services on the line. The addition of the new Class 321 units followed shortly after on the 29th, and the opening of the new extension of the Stepford Connect mainline to Winstree (Leighton Stepford Road) accompanied the release of the Class 321. Around December, many stations on the line, namely Bodin, Benton Bridge, Stepford Airport Parkway and Stepford Airport Central were renovated for larger capacity due to more travelling passengers on the line. A renovation to Benton followed shortly after. On December 4, two new trains entered the fleet: the Class 357 and Class 387, which were the first Electrostar trains in the history of SCR. The new Class 350 entered service shortly after on December 6. On December 11 the Class 700 got fitted with a special livery to celebrate christmas and the Class 185 entered service on the 13th. The Class 387 got transferred to WaterLine and was then replaced by the Class 377 on December 21.
2018
A new train entered service on the stroke of midnight on January 1: the Class 170. The Class 720 followed the release of the brand-new train, and it was the first Aventra train in the fleet. Benton then again got a renovation on January 9 to its present-day look. On April 21, the entire network of SCR got a revamp, which of course made a major impact on Stepford Connect, including the scrapping of the Class 700 units, which were replaced by the Class 707, and many stations also got renovations, such as Winstree, which was renamed to Leighton Stepford Road, and a bunch of new stations were introduced such as Rocket Parade. On August 4, a new train was announced for the fleet: the Class 365, which currently has not entered service as of writing. Stepford Connect did not receive any changes until December 31, where the Morganstown and Edgemead extensions were opened and a new train was put into service: the Class 68, which is the only locomotive-hauled train in SCR.
2019
The line was locked off from any modifications until April 28, where a new extension to Whitefield opened to the public. Then on May 6, a new train was added to celebrate the 3 millionth visitor of SCR: the Class 331, which was released in /3 and /4 variants. On May 14, a new train entered service: the Class 158, the first train to be fitted with Next Generation (train interior and working doors) technology. On May 29, a Next Generation replacement for the Class 185 was rolled out, and on June 8 the Class 377 was refurbished with Next Generation technology. On July 5, the Class 350 and 357 got refurbished with Next Generation technology. On July 9, a new train was added: the Class 458/5. The Class 68 then got upgraded to Next Generation technology on August 7. On August 14, the /0 variant of the Class 458 was put into service. Then on August 31, the Class 170 was upgraded to Next Generation. On September 22nd, a sneak-peek from SCR's official Discord server confirmed the upcoming Llyn extension which will pass through Westercoast as shown from the sneak-peek, with new scenery designed by thehazad9, the SCR People Director. New stations were revealed over time that were going to be placed on the extension, namely Faymere and Northshore. A fourth station, Starryloch, was revealed on October 16. The terminus of the extension was revealed on October 18, which was called Llyn-by-the-Sea and also revealed the Class 43 for the upcoming Stepford Express line.
