Splash Screen is a special screen in SCR which are shown each time a player launches SCR and persists until the game is fully loaded. A splash screen is mainly made up of three parts: a colour-changing SCR logo, a random hint/tip about the game and a text showing the loading progress.

- You can hide the driving HUD using Shift+G on a computer for better screenshots.
- Slow down when entering a station to stop correctly and avoid the buffers.
- Stop at the correct Stop Marker to ensure your train is correctly on the platform.
- Accept the AWS alarm by clicking the (!) icon on the driving HUD when it appears.
- Dispatching, Guarding and Signalling are unlocked for all players on VIP servers.
- Complete your route and terminate successfully to earn experience for that route.
- Different train classes have different lengths and maximum speeds.
- There are several hidden surprises around the map to discover on foot.
- Avoid walking on the tracks - your character will be despawned.
- Unlock new trains and routes using the points earned from playing the game.
- In-game time is based on UK time. Check the bottom left corner for the clock.
- Check the distance to your next station on the bottom left of the driving HUD.
- Accept a Guard on your train for bonus points at each stop.
- Yellow signals imply a danger ahead. Slow down and prepare to stop at the next signal.
- Unlock more roles by joining the group and clicking Training on the menu.
- Change the menu music in Settings > Audio. You can also adjust in-game sound volumes.

Trivia[]
The splash screen before Version 1.8.4
- The splash screen was slightly redesigned in V1.8.4 to look "more aesthetic". Although the splash screen still preserves all three parts (logo, tip, progress), the tip was previously slightly smaller and was located at the top of the screen instead of right below the logo. Additionally, the Skip Preload button was also removed, likely because the loading time since V1.8 is significantly faster compared to previous versions.
