Trivia[]

  • With a gap of 0.17 miles or 274 metres, Port Benton and Morganstown Docks are the two closest stations across all Waterline routes and across the whole SCR network.
    • Because of the short distance between this station and Morganstown Docks, there isn't enough time to play "The next station is" announcement between these stations.
      • After V1.8, the "We will shortly be arriving at Morganstown Docks" annoucement is immediately played after the "Welcome on-board" announcement.
      • Example: "Welcome on-board this Waterline service to Benton. We will shortly be arriving at Port Benton..."
  • Before Waterline services started calling here, Port Benton only had one Platform that was isolated from the rest of the line. This made it the smallest station in the game until the Waterline services opened. Currently, the smallest stations are Leighton West and Airport Terminal 1.
  • Port Benton, Airport Terminal 2 and Morganstown are the only stations where dispatchers can dispatch Stepford Connect and Waterline services at the same time.
  • This is one of six interchanges between Waterline and Stepford Connect. The other four are Benton, Airport West/Stepford Airport Parkway, Beaulieu Park/Whitney Green, Morganstown and Airport Terminal 2.
  • If the players want to, they can walk from Port Benton to Morganstown Docks via road. Before V1.7 was released, players could also walk to Benton, Benton Bridge and Cambridge Street Parkway by road. When V1.7 was released, it saw the redevelopment of the surrounding Benton area, which included Port Benton being cut off from said stations.
  • It is possible to get off a Waterline train from this station, run to Morganstown Docks and catch the same train due to the short distance.
  • This station is the only Waterline station that is operated by Stepford Connect.[note 1]
  • Before V1.8, the loop line from Port Benton to Benton used by Stepford Connect trains was overgrown. It was removed in V1.8 as Port Benton received a revamp.
    • Tramlink was also overgrown in Whitney Green, but it is not driveable.
      • Both stations also have old speed limit signs that seem to date back to the days of British Rail.
      • These signs were removed in V1.9 as they received a new model.
  • This station used to be a step-free access station but only either between the station entrance to Platform 1, or interchange between Platform 2 and 3 only, as stair access was required for the footbridge connecting Platform 1 (and the station entrance as well) with the other two platforms.
    • After the overhaul in V1.8, the footbridge is now equipped with lifts, which means this station now has full step-free access.
  • Before V1.7, Port Benton was not near any port. After the aforementioned update, Port Benton serves a major port with many container ships on the River Ben.
  • Charlie_RBX previewed this station rebuilt on the 17th October 2021, evident of the surroundings. The Waterline variant of the NGv3 Class 730 was also revealed.
  • Before the overhaul in V1.8, this station did not have a concourse. The main entrance was only a doorway to Platform 1.
  • After the V1.8 update, Platforms 2 and 3 swapped purpose and direction. Previously, Platform 2 was the Stepford Connect terminating platform, and Platform 3 was for Waterline westbound services.
  • There is actually a small section of track after Platform 2 that branches on to the Stepford Connect westbound platforms at Benton. With this in mind, it is possible for a Waterline train to go all the way from Greenslade or Morganstown to the Stepford City Zone via Benton. This also allows Stepford Connect trains to continue on that section of track to Morganstown. The former will most likely never be materialised but the former has a chance to be, evident from the tracks to Stepford Connect platforms from the Morganstown Flyover at Morganstown.
  • This station is the only station to be part of a loop.
  • This station is the only terminal station to not have trains swap ends after continuing the same route[note 2], Airport Terminal 2 also formerly had this feature, but was removed along with the airport loop.
  • Upon the release of V1.10, there was a bug where drivers who terminated at Port Benton were not able to continue schedule, as the passengers loading notice box was stuck at loading complete.
    • This was fixed in V1.10.3.
  • This station shares the headcode "P" with Stepford Airport Parkway.

Notes[]

  1. Benton and Morganstown are operated by Transport For Stepford and Airport Terminal 2 is operated by AirLink.
  2. Leighton City and Edgemead does not count as it requires changing routes.
