Trivia[]

  • Up until July 2018, the Class 321 trains had been based on the Northern Railway livery - more like the Class 321/9. From this point it was retextured as Charlie_RBX didn't like the design[citation needed] and it was made to look like a Class 321/3 (Renatus 321301-321330)[1].
  • The information boards in the train's interior are too big and are much slimmer and smaller in real life. They are also all in the wrong place.
  • This train is the second/third Next Generation train to have smooth curving on the sides. All other NG trains have had sharp curves. This train will get redesigned as SCR's transition to mesh trains.
  • This class of train is nicknamed the "Dusty Bin". This name is derived from an animated character on the game show 3-2-1.
  • This train has the same motor sound as the Class 319 and the Class 508 in-game, both of which are operated by Waterline, although it is ironic because in real life, 321s with their Brush TM2141C motors have a completely different motor/sound from the 319 (thyristor control with GEC G315BZ motor) and 508 (camshaft-resistance control with GEC G310AZ / Brush TM61-53 motor).
  • When this train got the new Stepford Connect livery, it looked less like the Greater Anglia livery by removing the stripes on the side but changing the the doors to a shade of grey is lighter than the one in real life.
  • The triangle on the front of the train is to indicate the First Class end of the train, not to indicate a guard's panel, as 321s do not have guard panels.
  • This train, along with the Class 319, were meant to be upgraded in Version 1.4, but according to BanTech, they couldn't fit, so they were added later in Version 1.4.1.
  • This train, the Class 345, the Class 360 and the Class 508 are the only TfL stock in Stepford County Railway.
  • These trains are the oldest multiple-units on Stepford Connect, having been introduced in 1988 in real life.
    • Coincidentally, it is also the earliest train ever added that is still in service in-game, being added merely four days after the game was released.
  • The Class 321 doors slightly bounce out and back in when they close, acting as pneumatic doors. This is inaccurate as the doors close quite smoothly and slowly in real life.
  • Although these were the first 'smooth trains' to be made by the Product Developer Mattyx2013, the curvature is wrong and the shape of the train is inaccurate.
  • Before V1.7, many parts of train's detailing were missing or not present, such as the Interlock Lights. This was mostly fixed on the aforementioned update.
  • Some players nickname this train the 'Microwave', along with the Class 220/221, noting the accelerating sounds to be similar to a microwave.
  • The Class 321 door open sound is currently 3 long high pitched chimes like the Class 319 and Class 158 whereas in real life the Class 321's door chimes are similar to (but not the same as) the Class 707.
  • The cab destination cluster is placed too low on this train, making the player able to see through the top of it in the cab view.
  • The doors happen to glitch through the walls when open. This may be fixed when the train is converted into Mesh Model.
  • The Class 321 is generally unfavourable among players because of its inaccuracies.
    • It is also quite rare to see this train be driven as other trains receive their NGv3 upgrades, which are much more accurate and detailed.
  • After Version 1.10.13, this is the only train on Stepford Connect that is not NGv3. As such it will likely be the last train on the operator converted as such.
    • It was later revealed through a sneak peek released on 6th March 2024 that the Class 321 will be meshed in the following update.
