The British Rail Class 730 Aventra is an electric multiple-unit designed by Bombardier Transportation and manufactured by Alstom, in use on Waterline (/0) and Stepford Connect (/1). These trains are formed of 3 (/0) or 5 (/1) coaches, with a max speed of 90 (/0) or 110 MPH (/1), and cost 1,000 and 1,500 points respectively.
History
This train was added to the game in the One Million Update on Waterline on 18th August 2018. In Version 1.1, this train became the replacement for the Class 701. In July 2019, the logo on the train was changed to the new SCR logo. This train was upgraded to Next Generation (NGv2) in Version 1.5 on 1st May 2020. The one million visits livery was then changed to the new Waterline livery. On the 16th June, a sneak peek of a 5-car Stepford Connect variant was published to the public. The Stepford Connect variant was released on 22nd June 2020. Both variants were upgraded to NGv3 in Version 1.8.
The British Rail Class 730/0 Aventra is an electric multiple-unit designed by Bombardier Transportation and manufactured by Alstom, in use on Waterline. These trains are formed of 3 coaches, with a max speed of 90 MPH, and cost 1,000 points.
Trivia
- Along with the Class 143, this is the cheapest Waterline train one can purchase, at a cost of 1,000 points.
- Because of this, these units are quite frequently operated and diverted many drivers' plans to buy Stepford Connect trains (mostly priced at 1,500 points) or the Class 195.
- Most Waterline starters use this train because of its low cost.
- Just before the release of the One Million Update, the train was labeled "Class BTS (BanTech Systems)" in the menu and painted black, so one could not see the designs.
- The game used to incorrectly state that this train had a max speed of 130 MPH.
- If so, then it would have been the fastest in SCR. However, this was not true.
- This train didn't have its TOPS train numbers shown outside the train before it was upgraded to Next-Gen in V1.5.
- Currently, the only train to not show its TOPS number is the Class 08, though this train is used for scenery at Faymere Green Northbound Depot only and cannot be driven.
- This train used to be infamous for derailing while returning to Benton from Cambridge Street Parkway as well as other locations.
- This is one of the only two trains with cab end gangways on Waterline, with the other train being the Class 379.
- This was the last Previous Generation Million Visits train left in the game.
- With its upgrade to Next Generation in V1.5, this train lost the livery commemorating the milestone.
- This was the final Next Generation train to be sneak-peeked. This happened on 30 April 2020 in the SCR Discord Server, when a sneak-peek of the NG Class 730 was published.
- This was part of the last batch Previous Generation trains to be upgraded to Next Generation, alongside the Class 165, Class 166, and the Class 380.
The British Rail Class 730/1 Aventra is an electric multiple-unit designed by Bombardier Transportation and manufactured by Alstom, in use on Stepford Connect. These trains are formed of 5 coaches, with a max speed of 110 MPH, and cost 1,500 points.
Trivia
- This is the longest Stepford Connect train in terms of physical length.
- However, since V1.8.2, it is still beaten by the Class 717 in terms of number of coaches.
- This variant used to have the old Stepford Connect seats instead of the actual ones.
- The NGv3 rebuild of the Stepford Connect units were initially sneak peeked only on Instagram and Twitter on 9th October 2021. It was later posted to the SCR Discord a day later. The NGv3 Waterline units were sneak peeked on 17th October 2021 along with the upgraded Port Benton station as well.
- This is one of the two Stepford Connect trains that do not have a yellow front, with the other being the the Class 717.
- Along with the Class 350, this is the fastest Stepford Connect train, with a maximum speed of 110 MPH.
- After this train's upgrade in V1.8, special car stop markers were added at select Stepford Connect stations where the standard 5 car or S car marker is not far enough for the train to be able to open its doors. These are identified with a purple colour with a yellow-black border, with the class number in the middle.
- The /1 variant shares these markers with the Class 720.
- When this train was meshed in V1.8, the pantograph was put in an incorrect location. It is unknown why.
- This also applies to the Class 720.

Trivia
- Both variants used to have a top speed of 100 MPH in SCR. This was inaccurate, as the /0 and the /1 have top speeds of 90 and 110 MPH in real life, respectively. This was corrected in V1.8.
- The NGv2 version of these trains were difficult to stop precisely from a driver’s visual perspective, because of the cab windows being small and far from the driver’s seat, along with the fact that generally gangway-ended trains have limited views from the cab.
- This train once had the highest class number out of all trains until the Class 802 was introduced in V1.1.
- Although these trains have functional cabs, guards cannot use them, and have to use the saloon instead.
- This and the Class 701 are the only two trains to have been added in-game before entering service in real-life.
- When this train was meshed in V1.8, the pantograph was put in an incorrect location. This also applies to the Class 720 on Stepford Connect.
