Overview

The Class 387 Electrostar trains are used for AirLink services. These trains are 4 cars in length, with a maximum speed of 110 MPH. This train now costs 3000 points. These trains were formerly 2250 points when they were on Waterline. This train received the Next Generation refurbishment on June 8th, 2019.

Trivia

  • This is the only train to have moved operators in the history of SCR. It was released as a Connect train in December of 2017, and was then replaced by the Class 377. It was later brought back into service on WaterLine. It then moved to AirLink about a year and half later, due to their top speed being more useful on AirLink rather than on WaterLine as the maximum speed on WaterLine is 90 mph. During this final switch it was also upgraded with Next Generation train technology.
  • Prior to Version 1.0, when they operated on WaterLine, these trains could not go to Newry Harbour because the line had not been electrified.
  • It has the highest max speed out of all the trains in SCR, the same as the Class 802, and Class 350 At 110 MPH.
  • These trains, as WaterLine stock, were refurbished with a new door chime, a direction indicator, and a darker blue colour in V1.1, however, this was not shown in sneak peeks.
  • The WaterLine version of this train has been replaced by Class 379, which has a top speed more appropriate for WaterLine at 100 mph.
  • 387249 appears in the poster for the SCR BoostClub.
  • This train is one of the three most expensive trains in SCR. The others are the Class 68 and the Class 802.
  • This is the only train on Airlink that can be powered via third rail.
