Overview

The British Rail Class 387 is a type of dual-voltage electric multiple-unit train built by Bombardier, as part of their Electrostar family. The trains are are currently in use with Airlink, and formerly with Connect and Waterline.

Trivia

• This is the only train to have moved operators in the history of SCR. Initially in use with Connect during December 2017, they were then moved to Waterline. Later, in June 2019, they were moved to Airlink and given Next Generation upgrades.
• 387249 appears in the poster for the SCR BoostClub.
• Prior to the commencement of Stepford Express services, these trains shared a record with the Class 350 and Class 802 for the fastest train in SCR.
• This train is one of the four most expensive trains in SCR. The others are the Class 68, Class 43, and the Class 802.
• This is the only train in use with Airlink that can be powered via third rail.
• In real life, this train is currently in use with c2c, Gatwick Express, Great Northern and Great Western Railway. They were formerly in use with Thameslink, and will be in use with Heathrow Express in the future.
