- Following the introduction of the Class 730, these trains, along with the Class 166, became a rare sight on the WaterLine, as the Class 730s are faster, cheaper, and electric instead of diesel.
- This and the Class 166 will be the last diesel trains to receive a Next Generation upgrade.
- This train, Class 166, and Class 730 are the only legacy/paper WaterLine trains left, all of them have the newer Houghton Foundry models.
