Trivia
- This is the first and only Connect train with a 2 coach variant.
- The Class 158/0 is a 3 car and the Class 158/9 is a 2 car.
- This train is the first Next Generation train.
- This train was one of the first two Next Generation trains released in the game, the other one being the Class 508 which is on Waterline.
- From May 8th to May 10th, this train could be seen on random routes being operated by beta testers, before they received a dedicated server.
- In real life, these trains are operated by Abellio ScotRail, Transport for Wales, East Midlands Railway, Great Western Railway, Northern Trains, and South Western Railway .
- These are the only diesel trains in SCR to have cab-end gangways.
- The old livery of this train was similar to that of the Class 458/0 since the ends were coloured blue, however, they were not identical.
- There were no 2 car stop markers for the Class 158/9 in any Connect platform until V1.4.1, when Benton Bridge had one. Otherwise, it needs to stop at the 3 car marker or at the 4/5/S stop marker.
- This train wasn't released as a previous generation train with the same livery as the other Connect trains. It was never released before it became the first Next Generation train.
- When you choose a train, this train's destination is "Stepford Road" instead of "Not in service" like other trains.
- The Class 158/9 is one of the shortest trains of SCR, alongside the Class 165/0, Class 171 and Class 195/0.
- This train got the new Stepford Connect livery in V1.6.
