The Stepford County Railway Wiki has a staff team that serves as a call point as well as dealing with incidents. This page informs you about the roles as well as the current staff team. In addition, the Staff Code of Conduct (SCOC) explains all rules that any staff member and Advisor must follow.

Bureaucrats

Bureaucrats are the highest rank you can get on the wiki. Their roles are the same as the Admins except that they have some extra permissions and that they can promote new users. They manage all staff, including trainees.

Selection process and requirements

When new Bureaucrats are needed, the current Bureaucrats will inform current Administrators to write letters about why they want to join the Bureaucrat team. Bureaucrats are selected through public votes on the wiki. During the votes, it is revealed who wrote each letter. Trial periods for this rank are 1 week and verdicts are made by current Bureaucrats as to their promotion or demotion.

The requirements for Bureaucrats are identical to the requirements for Administrators.

Administrators

Administrators deal with major incidents and have extra permissions to Moderators. They are able to sort out these incidents quite quickly because of the fact that they can block users. They are also, along with Bureaucrats, responsible for management of Moderators.

Selection process and requirements

When new Administrators are needed, the current Bureaucrats will inform current Moderators to write letters about why they want to join the Administrator team. Administrators are selected through public votes on our Discord server. During the votes, it is not revealed who wrote each letter. Trial periods for this rank are 1 week and verdicts are made by current Bureaucrats and Administrators as to their promotion or demotion.

The requirements for this rank are identical to those of Moderators, with the only difference being that Administrators are required to have 250 edits and posts. In addition, the activity requirement is 45 edits and 5 posts as well as 75 Discord messages per month.

Moderators

Moderators should be your first port of call for minor things listed on our Policy page. They watch for the recent contributions to the wiki and patrol edits, ensuring their quality. They issue warnings and can deal with incidents by alerting admins or higher.

This rank has two sub-divisions; content moderation and discussion moderation.

Selection process and requirements

Most of the time, staff members will select users to give them the opportunity of an interview for the Moderator position, although users may also request interviews themselves. After an interview was conducted, current staff will decide if the user should be given a trial position or not. Trial periods for this rank are 1 week and verdicts are made by current Bureaucrats and Administrators as to their promotion or demotion.

The requirements for this rank are not having any blocks in the previous three months and being in our Discord server with 2FA enabled. In addition, Moderators should be able to keep up with an activity requirement of 50 Discord messages per month.

Content Moderators are additionally required to have 100 edits and 20 posts, as well as a monthly requirement of 30 edits per month. Discussion Moderators are required to have 100 posts and 25 edits, as well as a monthly requirement of 30 posts per month. Moderators that are part of both divisions are instead required to edit 15 times per month as well as post 15 times per month.

Advisors

While Advisors are not officially seen as staff members, they play an important role in our staff team. They assist us with many decisions and are given rollback rights on the wiki. They also gain access to some staff channels on our Discord.

This rank has three sub-divisions; wiki editors, discussion users and Discord users.

Selection process and requirements

Advisors are selected by the community and staff. If you'd like to become an Advisor or think another member of the community should become an Advisor, you can suggest them to us either through the message wall of an Administrator or Bureaucrat or by opening a ticket on our Discord server. In addition, Administrators and Bureaucrats are also checking for possible users. Suggestions from both users and staff are both discussed by the Administrators and Bureaucrats and if the person meets the requirements and would be beneficial on the Advisor team, the user will be invited to the Advisor team.

Requirements for the Advisor rank are being in the community for at least three months and being in a good standing in the community. In addition, all Advisors are required to be on our Discord server. Activity requirements for Advisors are voting at least once per two months if there are votes related to their sub-divisions. In addition, there is a requirement of one interaction per month with the field of the sub-division(s) they are in. This requirement is one edit for Wiki Editor Advisors, one post for Discussion User Advisors and one message on Discord for Discord User Advisors.
